SAKAR, acronym of our “Society for Awareness, Knowledge And Rightful living”, appropriately connotes, realizing/giving shape to the dream of an informed citizen’s well-being.

Ms.Swarupa, its Secretary and members of SAKAR share the dream to bridge the human development gaps affecting the disadvantaged & vulnerable groups of people, viz. slum-dwellers, women & children. SAKAR took shape in May 1997 with an intention to take up the cause of access to basic amenities as entitlements and rights for the slum- dwellers, rag-pickers etc. The basic amenities include safe drinking water, education, hygienic living conditions, decent work. The last two decades have been witness to our relentless pursuit of the cause, in modest grandeur.
